Defining Skip

Some of us end up lucky enough to rise up from a tortured individual to a better life. Skipper is one of those lucky dogs who has come out of it mostly unscathed except for a few scars in his head and some minor psychological issues. He’s still testing the waters of life and slowly developing into the boy he was born to be .  He’s still young after all. Skip can best be described as a levelheaded guy with indomitable patience for both himself and others.

Having had to come over a rather rocky first few years of life and learning how to more or less help himself.  A victim for the most part into his thirties, but made no judgment towards others has given him much easier and understanding of others. Skip is in recovery and a victim of his youth. H has had many experiences and  will probably be the first willing to open up to you and let you listen to his life’s story.

Skip does not like to show off, but he is more intelligent than most. Sometimes he can seem like a superhero. He prefers to watch from the sidelines where he lives more through energetic events and there he learns. Skip has never been real outgoing and is still cautious of people; dog or human. He tries not to show it but will greet anyone with a soft smile, though it may be faked and he’s just planning out escape routes.

Street life taught him to trust his little group of dogs and be cautious of others. Not the smartest dog to ever roam the streets, Skip is still quite a capable little thing. He may not be the plotter or puppet master behind the strings, but this little guy knows every alley in the city and wear to get the best meals. People would say he has a plethora of “street smarts”. It’s helped him learn, survive, and slowly break away from the dependency issues he had as a little pup. Skip never wants to be helpless and unable to have a say about his life ever again. Overall he still struggles at times, but stays quiet for the most part.  He would rather be part of the audience rather than the lead role. He is a bit humbling at that.

In terms of love, he’s never had a real love relationship and probably except for Sweet Pea, who is the love of his live. Skip has begun a tentative relationship with her. He does his best to keep in contact, but generally keeps her to the back of his mind. In his mind, she lives there and alive. There is nothing else he needs. What mostly sets this attitude towards them are their personalities and their ability to communicate across vast distances.

Skip just cannot grasp having someone hanging out with him all the time and it tests even his good patience. Skip tends to love her and acknowledges in regards to how he feels about her. He of course has questions and is curious to actually know what she was like and what will happened between them. He has moments where he thinks he has picked up her scent or gets a feint glimpse that maybe looks like her. He’ll brighten up for a moment, but for the most part she is a phantom in the back of his head. Skip is big believer in fate and that if he’s meant to be with her, they’ll run into each other again someday.

After being wondrously tossed from the pack, his mother, and fellow siblings, Skip came out on top. He joined a sex cult where he was accepted. He spent many very confusing years under the protection of a cult master while being made to live in leaking cardboard box until he realized one day he was just a stray mutt and a victim. He left the cult against his better judgment. He was afraid and alone and now on his own. Skip was just a shivering little pale ball of fluff.

He decided to head for home so he went back to the ship where he came to America on. He left home for London with his his little rag tail tucked under him. He was sad.

He had enough trouble trying to scrounge up scraps with bully groups gnawing at their heels and stealing every good piece of city property for themselves. Skip just curled into a ball as he dangled by his scruff. He was just happy to be away from that scary place.

He did miss the group leader plopping down on him who kept reminding him that he found him on the outskirts of the group territory and that he must belong to someone inside. If he held Skip here, and kiss his ass and do as he was told the maybe he would be less willing to bully him. Great, Skip was a rejected pup held hostage and was make a sex slave. He was too young to tell the leader that he didn’t want this, but Skip was little and so afraid. But leaving that life behind he jump for joy to tear away from there.

Skip found a job and a place to live and by now, Skip had slowly wormed his way into the hearts of his co-workers and began to establish himself. He wanted to be useful and he was never fearful that he couldn’t do something to contribute to humanity.

And thus he became the master of his own life. Every dog has to contribute. Be it collecting food or dragging back old blankets and towels to keep them warm for the colder months. Skip thought that the role of a writer and a photographer would be fun. He explored every nook and cranny of the city; keeping well away from the two group territories until he ran out of places. After that, he began to gain some courage and strengthened his sneaking skills. He learned to take pictures of humans and other dogs who were to careless to keep watch. He grew in confidence as he solidified his position in life.

Skip’s quiet but ceaselessly yearning personality made him popular among the locals. He did favors, If there was one thing he learned from was that it was social networking was far more valuable than being able to beat up another dog. He earned the name “Skip” from one of his city connections. His real name his mother gave him when he was born was “Roberto.” Roberto used to skip when he walked and every where he went. They said they had never seen a dog skip and walk like that.

Now just nearing his second year and in a comfortable group, Skip begin to have inklings, getting needy about finding someone to love and maybe a bit more. Who knows, maybe he could even join more than one of the social networks.

Then one day it happened. He met a girl online, then that day, it became dawn in the city, as the rain clouds drifted through the sky. There was a steady and familiar beat of rain against the wooden beams and the ceaseless roll of the ocean only a few feet away. Skip had the promise of love in his eyes. fd14d2248e8c3b807a30cb2f8353119e
