Defining Skip

Standard

IMG_4653

Some of us end up lucky enough to rise up from a tortured individual to a better life. Skipper is one of those lucky dogs who has come out of it mostly unscathed except for a few scars in his head and some minor psychological issues. He’s still testing the waters of life and slowly developing into the boy he was born to be .  He’s still young after all. Skip can best be described as a levelheaded guy with indomitable patience for both himself and others.

Having had to come over a rather rocky first few years of life and learning how to more or less help himself.  A victim for the most part into his thirties, but made no judgment towards others has given him much easier and understanding of others. Skip is in recovery and a victim of his youth. H has had many experiences and  will probably be the first willing to open up to you and let you listen to his life’s story.

Skip does not like to show off, but he is more intelligent than most. Sometimes he can seem like a superhero. He prefers to watch from the sidelines where he lives more through energetic events and there he learns. Skip has never been real outgoing and is still cautious of people; dog or human. He tries not to show it but will greet anyone with a soft smile, though it may be faked and he’s just planning out escape routes.

Street life taught him to trust his little group of dogs and be cautious of others. Not the smartest dog to ever roam the streets, Skip is still quite a capable little thing. He may not be the plotter or puppet master behind the strings, but this little guy knows every alley in the city and wear to get the best meals. People would say he has a plethora of “street smarts”. It’s helped him learn, survive, and slowly break away from the dependency issues he had as a little pup. Skip never wants to be helpless and unable to have a say about his life ever again. Overall he still struggles at times, but stays quiet for the most part.  He would rather be part of the audience rather than the lead role. He is a bit humbling at that.

In terms of love, he’s never had a real love relationship and probably except for Sweet Pea, who is the love of his live. Skip has begun a tentative relationship with her. He does his best to keep in contact, but generally keeps her to the back of his mind. In his mind, she lives there and alive. There is nothing else he needs. What mostly sets this attitude towards them are their personalities and their ability to communicate across vast distances.

Skip just cannot grasp having someone hanging out with him all the time and it tests even his good patience. Skip tends to love her and acknowledges in regards to how he feels about her. He of course has questions and is curious to actually know what she was like and what will happened between them. He has moments where he thinks he has picked up her scent or gets a feint glimpse that maybe looks like her. He’ll brighten up for a moment, but for the most part she is a phantom in the back of his head. Skip is big believer in fate and that if he’s meant to be with her, they’ll run into each other again someday.

After being wondrously tossed from the pack, his mother, and fellow siblings, Skip came out on top. He joined a sex cult where he was accepted. He spent many very confusing years under the protection of a cult master while being made to live in leaking cardboard box until he realized one day he was just a stray mutt and a victim. He left the cult against his better judgment. He was afraid and alone and now on his own. Skip was just a shivering little pale ball of fluff.

He decided to head for home so he went back to the ship where he came to America on. He left home for London with his his little rag tail tucked under him. He was sad.

He had enough trouble trying to scrounge up scraps with bully groups gnawing at their heels and stealing every good piece of city property for themselves. Skip just curled into a ball as he dangled by his scruff. He was just happy to be away from that scary place.

He did miss the group leader plopping down on him who kept reminding him that he found him on the outskirts of the group territory and that he must belong to someone inside. If he held Skip here, and kiss his ass and do as he was told the maybe he would be less willing to bully him. Great, Skip was a rejected pup held hostage and was make a sex slave. He was too young to tell the leader that he didn’t want this, but Skip was little and so afraid. But leaving that life behind he jump for joy to tear away from there.

Skip found a job and a place to live and by now, Skip had slowly wormed his way into the hearts of his co-workers and began to establish himself. He wanted to be useful and he was never fearful that he couldn’t do something to contribute to humanity.

And thus he became the master of his own life. Every dog has to contribute. Be it collecting food or dragging back old blankets and towels to keep them warm for the colder months. Skip thought that the role of a writer and a photographer would be fun. He explored every nook and cranny of the city; keeping well away from the two group territories until he ran out of places. After that, he began to gain some courage and strengthened his sneaking skills. He learned to take pictures of humans and other dogs who were to careless to keep watch. He grew in confidence as he solidified his position in life.

Skip’s quiet but ceaselessly yearning personality made him popular among the locals. He did favors, If there was one thing he learned from was that it was social networking was far more valuable than being able to beat up another dog. He earned the name “Skip” from one of his city connections. His real name his mother gave him when he was born was “Roberto.” Roberto used to skip when he walked and every where he went. They said they had never seen a dog skip and walk like that.

Now just nearing his second year and in a comfortable group, Skip begin to have inklings, getting needy about finding someone to love and maybe a bit more. Who knows, maybe he could even join more than one of the social networks.

Then one day it happened. He met a girl online, then that day, it became dawn in the city, as the rain clouds drifted through the sky. There was a steady and familiar beat of rain against the wooden beams and the ceaseless roll of the ocean only a few feet away. Skip had the promise of love in his eyes. fd14d2248e8c3b807a30cb2f8353119e

It was raining and thundering. I could hear the storm outside. I could hear the voices of demons who were scattered across the room. And I could hear Skip begging, begging for them for his life. But I knew it wouldn’t matter, they had already made up their minds. Still, his voice did something to me, because as soon as I heard the sound of his voice I felt my heart beat. How strong he was and I knew he was here fighting to survive. He was my savior, my healer, my guardian my love.

“Pea, I thought I would never see you again,” it was Skip; his voice again; my heart was beating with joy that he was here. I was happy, but at the same time sad, because my fate would now be shared with him.

Sadly, those feelings were to be delayed. It was not our time yet to be together. I had to wait and I remember in my mind when the hand on my mouth suddenly tightened painfully.

To this day, I believe it was a dream as I felt the blindfold shift and at the same time I felt the man behind me shifting closer. I felt his breath and lips moving against my ear. I knew he was talking but I heard nothing until all his words registered in my mind.

“We’re not doing this because you know too much. We are thoroughly enjoying this”.

A shiver of fear ran through my body. What were they going to do to me, to us? A command to remove my blindfold was shouted from the other side of the room. I almost heard the smirk in that command… this couldn’t be good. I felt something cold and hard touch the left side of my face. Within seconds it was removed again and the light from the room made everything visible. I had to blink a few times to be able to see, but when I could….I wished I couldn’t.

What I saw him, the vision of Skip was burned in my memory instantly…the horrible sight of my love boiled to the brink of death. I knew that if he received help now, he would be able to survive. But I also knew that they would never allow it. Still… I begged, pleaded with them to get him out of this nightmare, he wasn’t involved, he know nothing. They surprised me by repeating my question.

“You want us…to get him out of this situation?”

I replied positive to their question… it was a mistake…a great mistake. It took me five seconds to register what they meant, but by then it was already too late.

My body froze as I watched my love burn in boiling water, to purify himself because my love made mistakes as a young boy. But I loved him …and he didn’t even know that I loved him.

“See? We helped him out of this situation, we kept our promise. And now you’re going to keep yours.”

I heard those words, but I refused to wake up from my dream…I hated those who did this thing to him…just as I hated myself. I think it was a demon, but I was too afraid to open my eyes.

This demon grabbed my head and I was pulled back by my hair, forcing me to look at his face. I froze…how? He must have seen the question on my on my face because he laughed. He took a step closer and grabbed my chin. All I wanted was to pull Skip from the boiling water.

“How I am able to be here you ask? Wouldn’t you like to know my dear…no…you are going to keep your promise first. You know too much so you have to be punished. As is the promise.”

He gave me a mocking kiss on my lips and walked away. When he was almost at the door at the other side of the room I saw his hand make a waving motion as if ordering something to be done. I felt something cold and hard behind my left ear…. I instantly knew… it was over. My lips uttered three small words before the world went black.

” I love you.”

It was over. Skip survived. He was purified.

Skip Loves Pea

What is love?
Love is a feeling.

What does it feel like?
It feels like warm coco in your hand
On a cold day or a warm
Bath after a rainy day.

How do you know when your in love?
When you think and talk about them
Until people beg you to shut up.

How do you know all this?
Because I’ve fallen in love
With a perfect angle who love me
Even tho I’m a little odd.

What would you do for her?
Any thing she wants and with a smile.

So are you in love then?
I’m more then in love with her
And want to be with her until the end
No longer then that i want to be
With her forever.

That is my only dream
Because U Love Pea that much.

True Love

It was a warm fall day and Skip was stretched out over a warm rock.

He listened to the stream trickle softly. Taking advantage of the warm weather and intended to sleep most of the day. Suddenly his eyes open upon the familiar skittering sound of a mouse scrambling over a slick rock.

He didn’t dare move; and was hoping it didn’t see him.

It had long, thick fur and was quite plump. It smelled so good! It had already begun to frost at night and Skip was surprised to see such a fat mouse.

It leaped to the other side of the stream and I stood up slowly. He crouched so low that the damp grass tickled his belly fur.

Slowly he advanced as the mouse washed himself in a patch of sunlight.

Taking one mighty leap and landed square on the mouse’s shoulders, catching it with one blow.

He felt very triumphant on such a great catch. Skipper returned to his rock to eat, but then he thought of Sweet Pea and how proud of him she would be if he shared.

Then they could both sleep on a full belly of a little brown plump mouse.

Just he and his Sweet Pea, his true love.

Chapter 1

Skip had just tumbled out of the nursery. He was just a young pup. He found his feet and began to explore. He took in all the sights and scents all at once which seemed to make him dizzy with excitement. He bounded quickly towards his friends, finding himself at the feet of a very lovely female Jack Russell Terrier. Her name was Sweet Pea. She was a beautiful puppy with a white coat with spots that covered her eyes and nose.

“Why, hello there!” Pea said cheerfully. He looked at her in amazement. She was very, very, pretty. He felt his pelt grow hot with embarrassment.

“H-h-hello.” He stammered. “W-w-what’s y-your name?” He asked timidly. She giggled in amusement. “My name is Sweet Pea! But my friends call me Pea. And what’s yours?” Skip smiled and looked at her.

Sweet Pea, such a pretty name, fitting for such a cute little puppy, he thought.

“My name is uh… well my name is um…. Skipper! Yeah, that’s it!” Pea giggled and licked his cheek playfully.

“Well, I hope to see you soon Skipper,” she said before leaving the love struck pup sitting in the clearing by himself.

Skip just sat there a few minutes, pondering about this new feeling he had.

Thinking to himself….

“What is Love?”
